A Picture Of Love

Today I had bus duty with my teacher. Every time I have bus duty, my teacher's daughter runs up the sidewalk from her bus to her mom with all she has. Those little kindergarten lanky legs are just a' pushing.

She gets there out of breath, with a smile on her face.

Then she drops her backpack at her feet, exhausted from a long day at school. She looks up at her with a smile and extends her arms for a hug.

As I sat back and watched this picture of love displayed through a mother and daughter, I couldn't help but think...

Isn't that our relationship with Christ?

We spend our life working away at our mission. That mission being to tell the world about sweet Jesus. Then when it is our time to go, we run up that sidewalk with our goal in mind.

Get to Jesus.

When we get there we are out of breath and exhausted. But we made it.

Then we get to drop our baggage at His feet. All of our worries are gone. We can look up to His precious face, smile and outstretch our arms. Then the best this will happen.

He will extend his back to us, scoop us up and make all other things go away.

I can't wait for that day.

So today at school, for me it was more than just academics. It was a lesson of love.

I'm visiting from Kelly's today. What a wonderful story. We can learn so much from children. Thanks for sharing. I taught school for three years before my son was born.
